To whom it may concern,

Join with other local citizens in cleaning up our beautiful community as your contribution to Earth Day 2012 and environmental protection. We are now preparing for the 4th annual Cambie Community Cleanup. And this year we are happy to announce that our event is bigger and better than ever thanks to our partnership with the City of Richmond, Tree Canada and the Richmond Food Security Society and Disposal King Ltd! Rain or shine, cleanup hours are Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 from 10:00am-2:00pm.

There are designated locations throughout our community that we will be working on. Whether you want to be a part of picking up litter throughout King George Park, planting native seedlings at Cambie Hollow and the Woodlot, restoring the Bath Slough trail or helping prepare the East Richmond Community Garden for planting there is a job for you! And at the end of the day we are going to celebrate all the volunteers and community partners that helped with this initiative by having a great lunch with some local entertainment.

The need for community cleanups is tremendous. Our green spaces are a precious and valuable natural resource and can be found in almost every neighbourhood in Richmond. This project will bring together members of the community in a constructive and conscientious effort to protect our environment while building community connectiveness and pride. Participating individuals and groups are the key factor in making this Earth Day cleanup a big success.

A registration form is included with this letter, fill it out and either email, fax or drop it off to us.

If you require assistance please contact Tatiana at tmicenko@richmond.ca or call 604.233.8372.

Detailed information on the event will be forwarded to you closer to event day.

Don’t delay…get involved in protecting your green spaces today.

Sincerely,
